The West Virginia Thoroughbred Breeders Association is a non-profit corporation that was founded in 1968 with the purpose to foster and promote the thoroughbred breeding and racing industries in West Virginia.
Members include businesses and individuals who have an interest in thoroughbred breeding and racing in West Virginia. The organization’s members have a shared belief that the West Virginia thoroughbred breeding program is an important and essential industry to West Virginia’s economy and way of life.
We are greatly saddened to learn of the loss of long-time Owner, Breeder, Trainer Charles “Buck” Woodson. Buck died on November 27, 2018.
2018 WVTBA General meeting was held on November 26th at Charles Washington Hall. Topics covered were Legislative updates by Herb Snyder, WV Bred Program tips by Steffanie Simpson, reimbursement programs through the Eastern Conservation District by Barbie Elliot, and tax tips by Clissy Funkhouser. Thanks to our corporate sponsors, Darla Gaige of Growth Media Services and Megan Lentz of Southern States. About 40 people attended, including Jefferson County commissioner Ralph Lorenzetti and WV delegates John Doyle and Sammi Brown. Thanks to all for coming and making it a success!

2018 Board of Directors Elections Results
